The Klimabiene project was started in the spring of 2011 and focusses on the honeybee's swarming urge. The project serves as a means of collecting as much data as possible on various beekeepers' bees in order to evaluate them scientifically. Annually recurring events and the developmental progression of the various bee colonies make up the basis for this data, making it possible to investigate the influence of weather conditions and the climate on the life of honeybees. http://www.klimabiene.de/

The “Be A Bee” association aims at promoting the honeybee in science, art, education and communication. Be A Bee is a platform for all topics that have to do with bees. The association supports the research project “Vom Klang der Bienen” (The Sound of the Bees) by Beat Hofmann and his team. They conduct research on the sounds emitted by honeybees. The noises inside a beehive are recorded and analyzed during the day and at night in order to establish a classification of the sounds made by honeybees. http://www.beabee.ch
