The Hauptsache Biologie Contest: Promega Honors Bee Article

On June 7th, 2013 Promega awarded the prize for journalism "Hauptsache Biologie": author Kristina Vonend and bee researcher Dr. Jürgen Tautz won third place in the contest, with a prize of 4,000 Euros, for their article “Vom Schwärmen der Bienen ("The Swarming of the Bees"), which was published in the Bergsträsser Anzeiger newspaper. The award ceremony took place in the orangery of Hellbrunn Palace in Salzburg.


Gold for Stefanie Golla

The bachelor thesis "Eine für Alle - Lang lebe die Königin" ("One for All - Long Live the Queen") by Stefanie Golla was given a gold medal in the student competition of the Art Directors Club (ADC) for Germany. The paper on bees was elaborated in collaboration with HOBOS. A total of 1300 projects were submitted.


European Science on Stage Festival: Christoph Bauer represents Germany

Christoph Bauer, teacher at Deutschhaus-Gymnasium Würzburg, was elected with “HOneyBee Online Studies (HOBOS)” at the national selection competition of Science on Stage. With the honeybee-project HOBOS he is entitled to participate in the European Science on Stage Festival 2013 in Slubice / Frankfurt (Oder).


HOBOS Nominated for the Science on Stage Festival

Students who are fascinated at school by learning biology, chemistry, math and physics retain twice as much information. This is why the Science on Stage association constantly looks for thrilling new ideas for science lessons. At the jury meeting on June 11th, the learning platform HOBOS was selected for participation at the national selection event from among 106 projects submitted from all over Germany.


HOBOS Design Work Is Honored

Student Stefanie Golla's thesis "Eine für Alle - Lang lebe die Königin" ("All for One  - Long Live the Queen"), which was completed with the help of the HOBOS team,  was awarded with a prize in February of 2012 by the design platform Behance www.behance.net.


Successful Communicator

The Würzburg bee researcher Jürgen Tautz has received the 2012 Communicator Award of the German Research Foundation. With this award, the Foundation honors Tautz' numerous activities with which he communicates his research findings to the public. The award is endowed with prize money of 50,000 euros.


HOBOS Selected by dm-drogerie markt for the Sustainability Campaign "Ideen Initiative Zukunft" (Ideas, Initiative, Future)

The HOBOS team signed up to participate in dm-drogerie markt's sustainability campaign "Ideen Initiative Zukunft" (Ideas, Initiative, Future) by entering its project HOneyBee Online Studies (HOBOS) into the running. HOBOS was assigned to the Würzburg branch on Eichhornstraße street. The HOBOS team will be invited to take part in dm's cashier campaign on 02.29.2012. The amount that is collected during that time will be given to HOBOS by dm as a grant.


HOBOS Nominated for the Clean Tech Media Award 2011

The Clean Tech Media Award is granted annually to innovative projects in the categories “energy”, “mobility”, “communication”, “lifestyle” and “new talent” by Clean Tech Media Ltd. (Berlin). The result of the public voting is fixed. HOBOS has made it into the final round and is nominated for the category “communication” along with two other candidates. On September 16 2011, the five prize winners of the Clean Tech Media Award 2011 will be honored at a gala in Hamburg’s Curio House.


Bionade hands over a 5.000 Euro award to HOBOS

Bionade, an international beverage manufacturer from Ostheim, Bavaria, hands a bonus, including 10.000 Euro prize money, in equal parts to two pioneering local bee projects. HOBOS receives a 5.000 Euro bonus, an equal sum goes to the Rhöner Honig-Raiffeisen cooperative association.(German)


Document and cup for HOBOS in the innovation competition „365 places in the Land of Ideas"

Deutsche Bank and the landmark initiative “Deutschland – Land of Ideas” have nominated HOBOS for the German competition “365 places in the Land of Ideas”.(German)
